Introduction
Silver Fox Inc. is a wholesale supplier of quality oil & gas well completion equipment and downhole tools. Our experience and knowledge in materials, manufacturing, and downhole use of the products we supply allow us to provide our customers with the best possible products they require and to truly understand our customer’s needs.
Anchor Catchers
Anchor catchers are devices used to anchor tubing string to the casing at a desired depth in order to pull and maintain tension in the tubing string during the pump cycle while simultaneously catching and preventing any parted pipe from falling into the well. It is used in most of the rod pumping applications where maintaining tubing tension is necessary. When set with proper tension to overcome both breathing and buckling, the oilfield anchor catcher effectively cuts operating costs incurred from excessive rod, tubing, and casing wear, which results in fewer pulling jobs. Elimination of breathing and buckling increases production by lengthening the effective stroke of the pump, thereby increasing volumetric efficiency.
Bridge Plugs
Bridge plugs are downhole tools composed primarily of slips, a plug mandrel, and a rubber sealing element. They are utilized in a subsurface manner in the lower zone of a wellbore, where the drilling bridge plug is run and set in casing. This isolates the upper zone from the lower, preventing fluids or gas from the lower zone from reaching an upper zone of the well while still allowing the upper section to be tested, cemented, stimulated, produced, or injected either permanently or temporarily within the wellbore.
Cement Retainers
Cement retainers are isolation tools set in the casing or liner that enables treatments to be applied to a lower interval while providing isolation from the annulus above. Cement retainers are typically used in cement squeeze or similar remedial treatments. A specially profiled probe, known as a stinger, is attached to the bottom of the tubing string to engage in the retainer during operation. When the cement stinger is removed, the valve assembly isolates the wellbore below the cement retainer.
Flow Control
Flow-control accessories add to the flexibility of the cased-hole completion design and perform a multitude of tasks, such as:
- Temporarily plugging off the tubing string.
- Establishing temporary communication between the tubing and the annulus.
Plug & Perf
The Plug & Perf methodology utilizes a Frac plug, which is landed below the planned perfs and is typically meant to be removed after the wells perfs are completed. The material utilized can be; steel/cast, aluminum, composite, or dissolvable. Silver Fox has a variety depending on customer preference as well as well parameters. Typically to be considered a Frac plug the ID of the Plug is purposefully left open and engineered to be as large as possible to accommodate flow back once the well is active. However Frac Bridge Plugs are also common in Plug and Perf operations, wherein the ID of the Plug is plugged off preventing flow from occurring until Plug is removed.
Production Packers
The packer forms the basis of the cased-hole completion design. The production packer is a sealing device that isolates and contains produced fluids and pressures within the wellbore to protect the casing and other formations above or below the producing zone. This is essential to the basic function of most wells.
Service Tools
Silver Fox supplies downhole tools to the oil services industry. Our tools help transform a hole in the ground into a productive well.
Tubular Goods
Silver Fox offers various tools for oil and gas operations, including a wide variety of tubular goods that are required for well completion operations. We carry pump seat nipples and pump out plugs, tubing accessories, shear out safety joints, and more.
BorCote™
CORROSION-RESISTANT, ABRASION-RESISTANT & EROSION-RESISTANT COATING
Interesting Fact: Large-scale boronizing was first applied to drive gears for petrol-driving engines in 1979. Meanwhile, similar helical gear pairs have long since become standard fittings in vehicle and stationary engines.
On account of its outstanding abrasion resistance, boride layers are used to reduce abrasive and adhesive wear.
Boronizing is most frequently adopted for steels and nickel alloys. Attainable layer thicknesses vary according to material and application. There are many possible applications for boronizing in mechanical, equipment, and apparatus engineering.
NapGard®
CORROSION-RESISTANT & ABRASION-RESISTANT COATING
Nap-Gard® NG65 Internal Pipe Coating is a thermosetting epoxy powder generally recommended for use in adverse temperature and pressure service applications that come in contact with corrosive oils, gases, and waters. The abrasion-resistant coating exhibits high adhesion properties and due to its thick build provides excellent corrosion and wear protection.
This process of applying corrosion-resistant coatings ensures that the substrate (eg. Steel) is completely covered from the elements (Corrosive Oils, Gases, & or Waters) and extends the product life substantially through its superior corrosion resistance to the base material being coated.
NAP-GARD® NG65 comes in a multipurpose Red or Green
NickelCote™
CORROSION-RESISTANT & ABRASION-RESISTANT COATING
Electroless Nickel Coating (ENC) High Phos (10.5%+)
Nickel Plating or “NickelCote™” is a nickel alloy coating that imparts superior corrosion resistance and added wear resistance to the base material being coated. In the “As Plated” condition it is a grain-free amorphous structure with excellent barrier corrosion protection. NickelCote™ has a morphology similar to that of metallic glass coating and because of the absence of a well-defined crystal structure, eliminates the possibility of intergranular corrosion, inherent in many crystalline coatings.
In other words: NickelCote™ is an Electroless Nickel barrier coating, in which it protects the substrate (eg. Steel) by sealing it off from the environment. Due to its superior chemical resistance, freedom of porosity, and as-plated hardness, NickelCote™ can provide a more effective and more economic protection than any other coating in most environments.
TefCote™
CORROSION-RESISTANT & HIGH-RELEASE COATING
Teflon Plating or “TefCote™” is a dry film protective coating that is applied as a thin film and cured onto the part.
This process technique ensures that the substrate (eg. Steel) is completely covered from the elements (Corrosive Oils, Gases, & or Waters) and extends the product life substantially through its superior corrosion resistance to the base material being coated.
TefCote™ has superior corrosion and chemical resistance, it provides protection for severe corrosion attack from substances such as CO2, H2S and Chlorides.
